Koh Lanta - Koh Phi Phi (Phi Phi Island)

Day 5: Koh Lanta - Phi Phi Don

We bought the ferry ticket from Hi-ED Travel in Koh Lanta with only 300THB per person to Phi Phi Island. We took the ferry at 8.30 am & estimated to arrived at Phi Phi Don at around  10.00 am. This ferry not only doing the transfer to Phi Phi Island but also to Phuket/Krabi.

At the jetty, you will be given this sticker to stick on your cloth. This is to identify who's going to Phi Phi Island & who's going to Phuket.

This is our boat to Phi Phi Island....enjoying the sea view...hehehe..

Other passengers with us on this trip....

Almost arrived at Phi Phi Island...

On your left, you will saw the Phi Phi Ley...another island of Phi Phi...

Before heading to the jetty, there's another boat to Phuket has wait for the passengers from our boats to be transferred.

A quick snap before out from the boat hehehe..nice view isn't it??

Now, we are in Phi Phi Don which is the main land of Phi Phi Island. Don't be surprise cause there will be no transportation in this island except motorbike for some of the area. All here are only within the walking distance, so no worries on transportation at all.

We walked to Baia Baia Resort for about 10 minutes & planned to stay for 1 night only, but then we extended for 2 nights more.
Once you here, you will not ever wanted to leave this place...trust me...

Unique decoration cause never had a coconut tree in your bed room, so try here...
very adventuring...hahaha..

Nearby the resort, you can find many bars, restaurant, cafe etc. If you are a muslim traveler, there is a cafe nearby the resort which is managed by local Muslim people. It's just in front of the beach...good place to eat & relax..

Try the pizza there with only 80THB per piece & it's really a big slice. Hahaha..

Then, we walked along the street & keep surveying on the cheapest island tour packages. Starting from the jetty it self, there's a lot of people that are selling island tour packages but do not be so excited to buy before you did the survey a long the street. You will find the cheapest package.

Local people selling seafood from shop to shop...a little bit strange because some of these things that we does not know it can be eaten..hahaha..

In this island, there is also XD Theatre...but haven't try yet but looks very adventuring way of movie style..

This is the little book store & you can borrow books here..

This is the groceries shop...

We got a lot of shops & stalls selling souvenirs. During our trip, we found that souvenirs/daily things here are a little bit cheapest than Ao Nang/Krabi. I think this is the only island that hava very high bargain power, so don't wait until your last day..hehe..

Tonight, we ate at the nearby cafe where we bought Pizza just now...nyum nyum, looks delicious...price range quite ok for us...

Day 6: Phi Phi Don (Phi Phi Island mainland)

Today, we had our breakfast at a muslim restaurant in local market area. The food was very very nice with a very reasonable price. Who ever went here, then you should try. There are 2 Muslim restaurants in a row & another 1 just in front at the corner. You find one of the restaurant, then you'll find the rest.

Fresh vegetable as usual & its free....hee..

Last night, we had bought half day island tour package on big boat with an agent for 600THB per person. We should be going for the tour today afternoon, but the trip canceled due to weather condition & we decided to took the morning session tomorrow morning.

Then, we just walked around the island & take photos. Do realize that the beach that where all the boats lay down is called Ton Sai Bay, while the other side of beach where near to our resort is called Loh Dalum Bay.

This is the beach side called Ton Sai Bay..

After that, we went to the Long Beach which located at the other area of Phi Phi Don. Caused we was told by the agent that Long Beach have a very soft sand & nice view. That's why we tried went there to have a look but it's really really tiring. You would have to go like hiking in the jungle for half an hour just to reach that beach.

We make it there but found that it's just like a normal beach, nothing seems to be special here. It was really disappointing caused we are like wasting our energy & time as we really wanted to go for swim at Loh Dalum Bay. However, its does gives us experience & memories to be there.

This is Long Beach...

Then, when get back to the Loh Dalum Bay, its already almost dark. We just seat by the beach & watch the sunset. But do check out our pictures on the next day morning, very nice view...

Dinner tonight...awesome...seafood...very cheap..unbelievable...

Night life here...very happening...bars by the beach & fire players....

Day 7: Island Tour (Viking Cave - Phi Phi Lay - Maya Bay - Bamboo Island - Monkey Beach)

Early morning, we went for breakfast & takes some photo at the Loh Dalum Beach...

Pose..pose...pose...at Loh Dalum Bay..

Island tour time....lets go...
At the first place, we bought a half day tour on a big boat from the agent for 600THB per person or long tail boat will be 400THB per person & was told that includes some fruits & drinks on board. But it was really disappointed that no food at all but only mineral water is provided & foods will be provided for those that took full day tour only. We felt cheated. So, have to be very clear with those agent that you are dealing with...

Well, before departure...the guy standing in the middle is our guide..Sulaiman..he's good in english, very helpful & funny...

Beautiful scene along the way...

This is our first spot...Viking Cave...
where there are many bird nest inside which usually use by Chinese people for their traditional medicine or daily supplement..

This is the 2nd spot...Peleh Bay..
Swimming & snorkeling time...if you are on a big boat, then most of the time you will have to swim over to the bank cause big boat cannot go near to the bank to not damage the coral & reef..

Our third spot will be the Phi Phi Lay...
However, we will not do any activity here, but we have to swim over to the staircase & cross over to the Maya Bay...you will have to leave your belongings at the board & swim to the staircase..at this time, waterproof bag will be necessary to brings your cameras or any other valuable things or waterproof hp case, so you can carry it on your neck. You can find it at Phi Phi Island with cheap price compared to at Krabi town at only 330THB for 10L waterproof bag & 350THB for waterproof hp case. It's worthy.

The 4rd spot is the Maya Bay, the last spot for those take half day island tour...cross over middle of the mountain, then you will reach Maya Bay..

This is Maya Bay..surprisingly, we did not expected so many people will come here, although its in the low season..I can't imagine while in the peak season, what would have it be?? There are many boats park along the beach side & I wonder how can people swim around here?

This is the scenery of Maya Bay which blocked by unnecessary view. I'm not sure how would there allow all these speed boat to laid along the beach side, it's really unfair to people who came for a swim as well as the view of this bay..it's just gone...we all keep figure out how to take a nice photo & how can we swim either where there's boat around..

Our group photo at Maya Bay before leaving the island...

My husband continue swimming while waiting for the others to swim back to the boat..

Heading back to Pier (jetty at Phi Phi Don) to send those that takes only half day tour & to pick up lunch for those that continue on board.

This should be the ending of island tour for us as well. Then my husband suggest to continue for full day tour cause he really unsatisfied & wanted to go for more. So we tried deal with the guide & pay more 400THB for two person for continue on board.

We all have our lunch on board before continue to the next spot..

Our 5th spot is Bamboo Island...
Nice beach, many fishes, clear water, good for swimming & good for snorkeling..fish are everywhere but have some bread together with you..

Then, our 6th spot is to continue snorkeling at Ao Poh Bay...

Now, our final spot is feeding the monkey at Monkey Beach. Very sad, the monkey does not shows up so we all only did snorkeling & swimming...

Lastly..before heading back to Pier, let's see the sunset first from middle of the sea...

A photo with our friends from other country (Switzerland if i'm not mistaken) hehehe... This is the end of our island tour....best...

Our last night in Phi Phi Island...so, let's 'Teh Tarik' which is Milk Tea...hahaha...
Where??it's at the same muslim restaurant that i mention earlier...try it & the foods also very cheap here...

Enjoying the night life here with fire performances by the local people...

This is the end of our journey in Phi Phi Island...tomorrow morning we will be heading to Krabi town which the last point of our trip this time..

Day 8: Koh Phi Phi to Krabi

During low season, there are only two time of ferry transfer to Krabi which at 10.30am & 3.30pm. So decided to go for morning transfer cause at least we may more time to search for place & transportation wise in Krabi.

Want to know what's best in Krabi & things to do...check out the next episode of Krabi...

To be continue....
